The Grow2B Farm has adopted organic farming methods using no-till approaches to grow the produce and herbs we plan to share with others. Foremost, our partners in nature are the heavy lifters in helping us reach our goals.
Currently, the property is being planted with a variety of native, perennial pollinator plants to provide desirable habitat for our bees and other pollinator friends. The intent is to have our wildlife partners hanging around more throughout the seasons. Sustaining the natural relationships in this local ecosystem will help build the overall wellness of the farm, its soil, and those who visit it. Premier Growers has donated plants to help boost the Grow2B Farm site's pollinator habitat.
More importantly, the Grow2B Farm strives to keep our microbes in the soil alive and happy! We are starting a large composting effort onsite to keep our nutrients cycling and organic matter ever present to boost and maintain soil health. This cooperative effort with parish members and volunteers is teaching us how to deal with food waste constructively. More information coming soon about how you can be a part of this effort.
Chosen farm practices use nature as our model. Our intent is to protect the plants from harmful pests and disease, minimize soil disturbance, retain vital nutrients in the produce, increase biodiversity, and conserve water. Our use of cover crops, natural soil amendments, and compost are examples of how we plan to regenerate the natural productivity and biodiversity of this land.
